Writing Objectives and Measuring Employee Performance
| I first heard of Vinehouse Essential some time ago, and since then have found their various publications very useful. Whilst working for a multinational I was asked to introduce a computer based appraisal system across the whole company (worldwide) and knowing some of the work that Nancy had done in the past felt that she would be able to help out with this. I had a very short timeframe to propose and introduce this system and after one meeting with Nancy was very happy that she was able to help. We designed and implemented a competency based appraisal system that was totally web based. This was presented to the company who were very pleased with the system, and they adopted it across the whole organisation. It has now been in place for over a year, and I recently checked with the Head of HR how well it was working, as I was concerned because most of the organisation had not used any form of appraisal in the past. I was delighted to hear that it had been embraced by all managers who were delighted to have a simple and effective performance management tool. Nancy Slessenger will write your objectives for you or help you to do it. Yes, it's true. Most of our clients hate writing objectives. Do you? So we have found a way to make the process not only quick and easy, but also much more effective than before.
Nancy will work with you and your people to produce a pick list of standard objectives which you can pick from and modify to suit each individual and their situation. Or Nancy will train you how to write them, or she will work with your top team to get theirs right.
Nancy will write performance definitions for you or help you to do it. Many organisations now use categories like 'not met' 'met' 'exceeded' and 'distinguished' to categorise performance at the end of the year. Often they find it hard to make these judgements consistent.
We will help you to get that right. Usually Nancy presents to groups of managers and HR professionals.
